Blood and lymph supply nourishes the skin.
From 1/2 to 2/3 of the total blood supply of the body is distributed to the skin. The blood and lymph, as they circulate
through the skin contribute essential materials for growth, nourishment and repair of the skin. In the subcutaneous
tissue are networks of arteries and lymphatics, which send their small branches to hair papillae, hair follicles and skin
glands.
